FAQ
-
We are an independent Maltese publishing house and creative enterprise dedicated to books as both literary works and material objects. We publish distinctive contemporary writing, produce handmade books and paper products, and explore the creative possibilities of bookmaking, design and print.
-
We believe a book can be much more than a container for words. Our approach brings together literary experimentation, thoughtful editing, visual design and an artisanal sensitivity to book production, creating publications with a strong sense of identity, materiality and purpose.
-
We champion distinctive voices and ambitious literary projects creating works that have earned recognition within Malta’s literary landscape. We continue to support both established and emerging writers while contributing to the diversity and quality of contemporary Maltese publishing.
-
Our work includes books, handmade publications, bespoke paper products, editorial support and book-production services. We can assist with projects from early research and conceptual development through editing, design, binding and final production. We also welcome enquiries about workshops, creative initiatives and new publishing ideas.
-
Absolutely. We are always interested in meeting writers, artists, designers, cultural organisations, businesses and other creative people who share our curiosity. We welcome proposals and collaborations, although commissions, custom projects and bespoke production requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on their scope, feasibility and creative potential.
-
Only occasionally. We are a small, independent operation, so we carefully consider each request rather than promising a service we may not be able to deliver. If your idea feels right for us, we will explore what is possible, discuss practical considerations and see whether we can make it happen together.
-
We believe good collaborations begin with trust, mutual respect, honest conversations and a shared understanding of what everyone brings to the table. Where appropriate, we prefer a human approach and a gentleman’s agreement over unnecessary formalities. We value fairness, transparency, clear expectations and respect for everyone’s time, work and contribution. We like to keep things dynamic, organic and human, even when they turn a little messy.
-
Yes. We welcome business-to-business enquiries and partnerships with cultural operators, institutions, independent creatives and organisations looking for thoughtful publishing or production solutions. Whether you have a fully developed brief or just the beginning of an idea, we are happy to start a conversation and explore the possibilities.
-
Yes. We offer workshops that bring people together through shared creative experiences, making them ideal for team building, professional development and capacity building. Our sessions encourage participants to experiment, exchange ideas and discover new ways of working together through hands-on creative practice.
-
We embrace a thinking by making approach: learning through doing, experimenting, testing ideas and reflecting on the process. By working with materials, tools and creative challenges, participants can develop practical skills, strengthen collaboration and unlock new perspectives. Our workshops can be adapted to different groups, objectives and contexts, creating meaningful learning experiences that are as engaging as they are useful.
